The Graph below shows the working hours for men and women in developing
world between years 1998 to 2003. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons wherever necessary.

Ielts Academic Writing Task 1 

The given graph depicts number of hours spent at work by men and women in 8 underdeveloped nations between 1998-2003. 
The average working hours of nationals of each mentioned country is just above 6 hours. In Mongolia, workers of both the genders spent more time than workers of  other country (more than 8 hours); they were followed by Indians; Mexicans; workers of Madagascar; North Korea; and Mauritians respectively, who spent a little above 6 hours. Workers of Benin and South Africa spent between 4 to 6 hours at work.
Similarly, average extra time spent by women workers of these countries was 1 hours and 9 minutes. Women in Benin spent did most over time than (145 minutes). They were followed by Mexicans (105minutes), Indians (65 minutes), South Africans (59 minutes), women of Madagascar (51 minutes), Mongolians (24 minutes) and Mauritians (24 minutes).

To conclude, most time spent at work by both genders was in Mongolia while extra hours spent by Mexican women was more than women of other countries.

The Chart below shows the amount spent on six consumer goods in four European countries. Write a report for a university lecturer describing information shown below.
You should write at least 150 words.

Ielts Writing Task 1 - Spending on consumer goods  

The given bar chart depicts the money spent by nationals of four European nations; Britain, France, Germany and Italy on six categories of consumer goods, namely Personal stereos, tennis racquets, perfumes, CDs, toys, photographic films.

It can be observed, Britons led in spending on all six product categories – with most money spent on photographic films; and least expenditure incurred on personal stereos. British were closely followed by French whose spending on 3 commodities was more than Germans and Italians, but lesser in other three goods.

Similarly, the spending of Italians on all 6 types of goods was more than Germans; more than French in 3 categories; at par with them in toys; and less in other two – highest amount of money spent on toys and least on personal stereos.  

On the other hand, the inclination of Germans to spend on all the consumer goods was less than the nationals of other three European countries.

To conclude, British led in spending in all product categories, while Germans trailed in all.

The Table below shows the results of a survey that asked 6800 Scottish adults (aged 16 years and over) whether they had taken part in different cultural activities in the past 12 months.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Write at least 150 words.

The given table depicts the age wise details of participation by 6800 Scottish adults in an array of cultural activities.
The table shows that most of participants aged between 16-24 took part in any performance (35%) - dancing, singing, playing musical instruments and acting –; while least number of people participated in computer based activities (10%).

Similarly, most participants in 25-44 age group took part in any performance (22%), whereas only 6% went for any writing activity.

Most of people aged with 45-74 years participated in Undertaking any crafts while only 5% went for any writing and computer based activities each.

In an overall, all participants aged 16 and above took part in any performance (22%) while least number of people participated in computer based activities (6%).

To sum up the assessment, most of the participants seemed to be more inclined to any activity – closely followed by undertaking any crafts; cultural purchases; any visual arts; any writing, whilst least number of participants seemed inclined to computer based activities.
