The given pie chart and table illustrate the causes of deterioration in quality of arable land and the three regions, namely North America, Europe and Oceania, affected by these causes in 1990s.

Pie  chart clearly shows that much of the arable land was lost due to use of land for cattle grazing (35%) followed by cutting down of forest cover (30%); over farming (28%); and other reasons (7%) respectively.

As per table, total area of land lost in America was 5%, out of which, most of land was left uncultivable by over cultivation (3.3%), followed by overgrazing (1.5%) and deforestation (0.2%). In Europe, out of the 23% of land deteriorated, a major portion (9.8%) was lost due deforestation, followed by over cultivation (7.7%) and use of land as pastures.

In Oceania, out of 13% of land lost much of land lost was due to overgrazing, followed by deforestation.
